anticipation

In just a few days, our mission team will be heading to Honduras for a week. I must confess that I'm so excited about this trip that I've been packed for a week now. Sipping my first cup of coffee on the back porch, the words to a song floated into my consciousness...this is how I most often experience the voice of God. The song: "Sanctuary"..."lord prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. With thanksgiving, I want to be a living sanctuary for you." With this melody tracking in my head, Orange, our cat, and I meandered to the labyrinth for a meditative walk. Sanctuary is worth pondering and may very well be my mantra for this upcoming trip.

following in their footsteps

Today I have put my "e-experience" to the test and embarked on the adventure of writing my very own blog.  In so doing, I am stumbling along in the footsteps of my blog-experienced children.  First a disclaimer...and a smidgen of "poor pitiful me-itis".  Josh and Jennifer author two very different, but equally entertaining & creative blogs, so if you are a fan of Josh's "Kitchen Mischief" or Jennifer's "30 by 30", "I'm just saying"...give me a break.  I did ask both my talented offspring for their opinions of my idea and it's title and I received an email encouragement from one and  an affirming text from the other.  I'd hoped for a little more than that; but, alas, they are busy young professionals, so what's a mama to do? GOOGLE IT! ...and so, I did just that and in a matter of clicks, I am on my way.
